#YoungDolph’s k-ller’s sentencing has been delayed over prison safety concerns.
Both the prosecution and
#CorneliusSmithJr.’s attorneys met in Shelby County, Tenn., court, where they agreed to a plea deal but pushed Smith’s sentencing date back to May 15. One of the factors remaining to be settled is where Smith will serve his sentence due to concerns over his safety and if he will be designated to solitary confinement for his own protection.
“We wanna make sure that the sentence that he gets, he’s going to be able to serve it safely,” Smith’s attorney, Michael Scholl, told WREG News.
Smith admitted to being one of the men who sh-t and k-lled Young Dolph inside Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies in 2021. He testified against Justin Johnson, the second man charged with the crime, in 2024. Johnson was ultimately found guilty of first-degree m-rder and sentenced to life in prison plus 35 years.
