This is the Doña Ana County, New Mexico Series.
The Battalion Search and Rescue’s work is ongoing.
Volunteers continue to search the desert month after month — often finding sites that were never reported, never investigated, or not fully recovered.
In addition to searches:
• Faith leaders are escorted into the desert for services
• Desert areas are cleaned and documented, including belongings left behind during CBP apprehension actions
• Researchers and artists are supported in investigative and memorial work
Despite fewer crossings, remains are still being found.
Not because more people are coming through — but because no one else is looking.
This is part 10 of 11.
