Her Legacy | Episode 11
A champion competitor and a pioneer for women in the golf profession.
Sally Hardwick first made her mark as a junior standout, winning the first-ever CWGA Junior Match Play in 1953 and repeating the title in 1954 and 1955. Her dominance continued into adulthood, where she captured five CWGA major championships between 1957 and 1959, including three consecutive Stroke Play titles.
In 1961, Hardwick broke barriers by becoming Colorado’s first female club professional, serving at Pinehurst Country Club for more than 40 years.
Her influence extended beyond Colorado as well, coaching the Arizona State women’s golf team (1964–67) and the Heritage High School boys team for more than two decades.
A competitor, coach, and trailblazer whose influence shaped generations of golfers.
Her Legacy lives on.
