The come back after a big crash only few talk about. For me personally the night before, I still can’t breathe.
Palpitations. Can’t eat. Can’t bring myself to drive to the circuit.
It happens every single time. No exceptions.
People see the track days or racing. They don’t see the hours before it. Sitting in the dark, chest tight, wondering why I keep doing this to myself.
Fuji Speedway 2020 took both shoulders, my femur, both hands and the partial sight in my left eye. Six months before I could get back on a bike.
The fear never fully left. It just changed shape.
But then something happens.
The helmet goes on.
And it’s like someone else takes command of me. The panic disappears. The doubt disappears. Everything disappears except the track ahead.
This is that moment.
Pit lane exit. Dubai Autodrome. Yamaha R6.
The moment I stop being afraid and start being alive. 🏁
What keeps you coming back to the track even when everything in you says don’t? 👇
