Today, we are crowning actress Kayla Cromer as our #QueenoftheWeek 👑 Born in San Jose, California and raised in the suburb of Morgan Hill, Cromer was diagnosed with dyscalculia, dyslexia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder at the age of seven and was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder years later. At nine, she found herself fascinated with paranormal investigation and ultimately decided her career goal was to become a criminal profiler with the FBI. However, it was after watching Keira Knightley in Pirates of the Caribbean that she was inspired to start acting. She made her acting debut in 2015 in the TV series “South of Hell” and later appeared in the films Desert Dwellers and Blood Orange. In 2020, she began starring as Matilda in the series “Everything’s Gonna Be Okay.” The role made her the first actor on the autism spectrum to play an autistic main character in a TV series.
