Last year, Johnny Keefer was a Korn Ferry Tour pro. This week, he’s playing the Masters.
Keefer qualified for the Masters by ranking inside the top 50 on the Official World Golf Ranking at the end of 2025, a year that included two Korn Ferry Tour wins, the No. 1 spot on that circuit’s season-long standings, and a scoring average of 67.95.
That was a continuation of his form on PGA TOUR Americas in summer 2024, where he finished atop the season-long Fortinet Cup standings with a scoring average of 66.00. Essentially, Keefer played two straight years of dominant golf to ascend to a Masters berth.
Keefer’s meteoric rise to the PGA TOUR wasn’t a foregone conclusion as he concluded his college career at Baylor in spring 2024, either. The Baltimore native moved inside the top 25 on the PGA TOUR University Ranking with a strong finish at the season-ending NCAA Championships just to secure a PGA TOUR Americas card. Otherwise, his status in professional golf would’ve been uncertain.
