Selena Lopez’s ’21 determined and hard-fought journey to a college degree honored her immigrant father's epic work ethic. Lopez earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in December 2021, tragically just one month after her father passed away. Working part-time while in school and even taking a brief hiatus to give birth to her son, Armani, Selena’s path wasn’t easy, but it was her father’s sacrifices that always kept her motivated. "My dad did everything he could to bring us to this country to have a better opportunity, so I always kept that in mind," she said.
