โ๏ธThe Nissan Z Nismo is finally getting what enthusiasts have been begging for, a proper manual transmission option.
Up until now, the NISMO version of the Z has been locked to a 9-speed automatic, despite the standard Z offering a 6-speed manual, which always felt like a weird contradiction for a driver-focused trim.
For 2027, Nissan is expected to fix that by pairing the twin-turbo 3.0L VR30DDTT V6 with a 6-speed manual, likely tuned specifically for the NISMOโs higher output of around 420+ hp.
That means you are getting the full NISMO package with a stiffer chassis, sharper steering, upgraded cooling, and aggressive aero without sacrificing driver engagement.
This is a big deal because the NISMO was not just missing a third pedal, it actually changed the personality of the car.
The automatic made it quicker on paper, but less raw.
A manual version brings it back to what the Z has always been about, balance, feel, and connection.
There is also a bigger trend here.
