This #MuseumMonday, we’re reflecting on the early days of the Richmond Cottage, which opened as a hotel in 1900. Featured here are scans of the first two pages of the hotel registry, dated Saturday, April 7 through Wednesday, April 11, 1900. Edith Richmond is listed as the proprietress, and on the second page you’ll find the signature of Henry M. Flagler, entered on Monday, April 9. Flagler was among the very first guests to stay at the hotel when it opened. These registry pages offer a fascinating glimpse into the earliest visitors who chose the Richmond Cottage as their home away from home.
