More than 2,000 middle school students and faculty members completed a 54-kilometer walk on Friday to pay tribute to martyrs at a cemetery in Guyuan, northwest China’s Ningxia, ahead of the Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day.⁣ ⁣ Now in its 31st year, the annual event is designed to strengthen students both physically and mentally, fostering resilience while offering a deeper, firsthand understanding of the hardships endured by earlier generations.⁣ ⁣ During Qingming Festival, Chinese people traditionally honor deceased family members and heroes.
