Gena Cooper is a Senior Vice President for Alpine Bank. She has been with the bank since 2000 and volunteers with the Saccomanno Higher Education Foundation (SHEF), an organization that supports the educational pursuits of students in need of financial aid. “SHEF has been providing scholarships for students in Mesa County and Carbon County, Utah for over 30 years,” said Gena. “During that time, we have provided over $20 million in educational assistance.” Gena serves as the secretary treasurer for the foundation and directs the application and scholarship process. The foundation was started by her grandparents, Geno and Virginia Saccomanno, so volunteering with this group has allowed her to play a small part in continuing their legacy. “Education was what allowed them to change their lives for the better, and they wanted to pay that forward,” explained Gena. “As the students realize their dreams, my grandparents continue to have their dreams fulfilled, too.” #WomenOfAlpineB...
