LGBTQ Pride Month is commemorated each year in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots that lasted for six days in New York City. The riots were a catalyst for increased visibility and activism of the LGBT community. The most iconic symbol seen at events such as the Pride parade is a rainbow flag, which typically symbolizes social equality, individuality and support. A recent variant of the flag includes eight colors, each representing a different meaning: black (diversity), brown (inclusivity), red (life), orange (healing), yellow (sunlight), green (nature), blue (harmony) and purple (spirit). As we celebrate Pride, we stand shoulder to shoulder with our friends and colleagues in the LGBTQ+ community and are proud that belonging (or inclusion) is built into our Company culture.
