Sore muscles don’t automatically equal success, and not being sore doesn’t mean your workout “didn’t count.” 🚫 Sure, you can become sore after a workout, especially if it’s a new exercise, more volume, or even a change in intensity. But DOMS* is not the goal, and it’s definitely not the only way to measure progress in strength training. 🏋️‍♀️ A few better questions are: 1️⃣ Are you actually getting stronger? 2️⃣ Are you able to do more reps? 3️⃣ Can you handle more load? 4️⃣Are you recovering well enough to train consistently? Pain is not the prize. Progress is. And that’s what REAL progress looks like. 💪 *DOMS: Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness or DOMS is the muscle pain, tightness, and tenderness that occurs between 24 and 72 hours after a new stimulus or high-intensity exercise, particularly eccentric movements or lengthening of the muscle. #fitbod #strengthtraining #machinelearningfitness #fitbodapp #fitness
