Huge thanks to heart patient, Megan! She celebrated the 10-year anniversary of her #hearttransplant by donating art supplies to our hospitals in #SanFrancisco and #Oakland! In 2012 at just eight years old, Megan became seriously ill, and her local doctors discovered she had dilated #cardiomyopathy, a disease that affects the heart’s ability to pump blood. She came to our Oakland hospital and spent three weeks receiving care, mostly in our intensive care unit. Several years later, Megan had a #hearttransplant at another hospital and went on to finish high school and graduate from ucberkeleyofficial last year! Megan and her family recently started the meganmehtafamilyfoundation to give back to hospitalized kids by donating art supplies and other goodies. Megan’s goal is to provide creative outlets for other sick children to express their feelings during challenging times. #donatelife #giveback #ucsfkids
