April is #DonateLifeMonth, a time to raise awareness, inspire others to register as organ, tissue, and eye donors, and honor those who have saved lives through the gift of donation. Today, our patient Anna is sharing some advice and words of encouragement for other kids waiting on a transplant. When Anna needed a kidney transplant, both of her parents stepped forward to donate but unfortunately were not a match. Instead, her dad donated through a paired exchange program with thenationalkidneyregistry and pennmedicine — helping another patient while Anna received a life-saving kidney.
