Don’t mess this one up 👀 One of the biggest mistakes riders make in the spring is keeping the same off-season training intensity while adding riding on top. This is a fast track to burnout, excessive soreness, or injury. As riding volume increases, training intensity should come down slightly. You don’t need to be smashing PRs in the gym or doing your hardest cardio sessions when you’re riding two or three times a week. Instead, shift training toward maintaining strength, reinforcing movement quality, and supporting recovery. Think of it this way: winter training is about building. In-season training is about maintaining and refining.
