Crossing the border from El Salvador to Nicaragua by boat— I booked through Gekko Explorer and the process was pretty straight forward. I did read up on camera regulations before entering the country but missed the part where you can only have 2 cameras per person… I got lucky and the border control officers let me keep my third camera. I heard lots of horror stories about this boat ride prior to booking but I got lucky with the weather and the ride was smooth and no one got wet. All of our bags were stored in the front of the boat where they wouldn’t get wet even if it were rougher weather. Definitely bring some snacks with you because the travel day involved lots of waiting around and little to no food options or bathrooms. #backpacking #centralamerica @Gekko Explorer #nicaragua
