We are excited to honor Journey Allen at our celebration event on April 2nd as our 2026 Diamonique Whaley Champion of Justice. ⁠ ⁠ Journey celebrates the creativity of New Orleans’ youth through Spectrum Arts NOLA, the youth-led collective she helped found that embraces young people being “rooted in creativity, rising through community, and reimaging the future.”⁠ ⁠ We thank Journey dearly for helping incarcerated kids engage in healing through arts education. Journey has previously worked closely with kids incarcerated at New Orleans’ Juvenile Justice Intervention Center (JJIC)—including numerous LCCR clients.
