Missouri Governor Mike Parson makes his remarks at the St. Louis home of Civil War general and the18th President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant, in St. Louis on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. Grant first met Julia Dent, his future wife, at her family home, named White Haven. From 1854 to 1859 the Dents, Grants and an enslaved African-American workforce lived on the property.
