How Tillman Scholar Fiona Balsa helps children thrive from the start 👩‍🏫⬇️ Born in Indonesia and raised by a single mother, Fiona, a 2021 Tillman Scholar and military spouse, proudly became the first person in her family to go to college. She recently started a new role as a Clinical Psychologist at abskids_ in South Carolina, where she provides autism evaluations for young children and ensures families have the support, resources, and opportunities they need. Support from the pattillmanfnd and our donors made it possible for Fiona to pursue a Ph.D. in psychology at uncchapelhill, balancing her studies with raising twins and serving as a soldier and family readiness group leader in her husband’s military unit.
