UC Berkeley received a $10 million commitment from the Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund to establish a new dedicated practice facility for Cal men’s and women’s basketball programs at the Recreational Sports Facility, Cal Athletics announced Friday. The new dedicated practice facility will be open 24/7 for Cal basketball student-athletes, offering the programs the space to maintain flexible practice and training schedules. “If a college wants to compete at the top level of Division I, a 24/7 practice facility is critical to attracting the top varsity basketball players,” Doug Goldman said in the Cal Athletics press release.
