Just before 5:34 p.m. Tuesday evening, Company 5 was dispatched to the 2500 block of Saratoga Drive in Ferguson Township for a large vehicle fire. Companies arrived to find a UPS truck with fire in the wheel well. The crew of Engine 5-1 stretched a line off the bumper, extinguishing the fire with minor extension into the storage compartment. Companies operated for about a 1/2 hour before returning to service.  Earlier in the day, Company 5 responded to a vehicle accident with injuries in the 500 block of Benner Pike in College Township. Crews arrived to find one patient entrapped in the vehicle, adding Rescue 5 to the incident. The crew of Engine 5-1 extricated one patient prior to the arrival of the Rescue Company, who was diverted to establish a landing zone alongside Pleasant Gap Fire Company’s Engine 8.
