The latest farm project supported by a Steward short-term bridge loan: Normanton Farms Normanton Farms raises grass-fed beef, free-range pigs, and pasture-raised chickens in Litchfield, New Hampshire. Farm manager, Steve Normanton, employs practices that focus on soil health and resilience at their core. The farm sells their products through a mixture of wholesale channels and direct-to-consumer. He is excited about continuing to expand their business by offering regional shipping through their eCommerce sales. Loan funds will be used to cover cash flow needs during a time of the year when costs for poultry and livestock feed start up again, but an uptick in sales is still a couple of months away. Funds will also be used to purchase shipping materials needed to expand direct-to-consumer meat sales throughout the region.
