Our largest farm loan (so far) to create a regenerative farming & agritourism hub for generations to come!
Recently, Steward completed a $2.86m bridge loan to San Juan Center for Regenerative Economy (SJCRE). Funded through Steward Regenerative Capital, this debt capital will contribute to the purchase of a 42-acre site located on San Juan Island in Washington State.
The vision of owners Emma Rastatter and Wiley Webb is to build a more sovereign, resilient, and equitable food system for the San Juan Islands⏤a community of nearly 20,000 residents that also sees thousands of tourists each year. The educational working farm and agritourism destination already include a 10-bedroom B&B lodging with a commercial kitchen, four-bedroom guesthouse, large barn, stable, and office space. The loan also funds essential farm equipment needed to get perennials in the ground this fall. SJCRE also contributed 20% equity to the property purchase and is self-financing initial start-up costs.
