Our Newest Steward: Luke Knowles Luke Knowles (pictured on the right) is a Special Projects Manager here at Steward. What that means is he supports our borrowers and project partners on a variety of fronts, from federal grants to carbon markets to capital raises. A number of different experiences inform Luke's work at Steward. He has deep experience in food systems work, including a previous role leading operational growth for a start-up seaweed company operating in Alaska and Mexico. Has also served as fundraising and policy lead at FoodCorps, a national nonprofit focused on the equitable opportunity for nutrition in schools. And prior to all of that, Luke worked as the coordinator of USDA's first effort to support local and regional food systems under President Obama. Needless to say, we could not be happier to have Luke join our team! Luke lives in Portland, Oregon with his family where he gardens, bakes bread, and goes fishing from time to time. And he's also an avid birder....
