𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀
Going into the final class at Canadian World Team Tryouts, I’d already done the math and Prophet and I were way behind in points.
If I wanted any shot at making the team…we had to win the class.
I believed in my dog. If we could put down a flawless run, we could win.
But there was a problem.
We had never—not once—had a clean run on dirt.
Correct not even once.
There were always bars. One… two… sometimes three.
And this weekend it was weave entries.
But something shifted over the past few months
We’d done the work during our “dirt days”.
And in the five runs leading up to this… only two bars total.
Momentum was build.
This was the run where everything we hadn’t been able to do… had to show up all in one place.
A talented dog can only go as far as the clarity the handler provides.
Over the weekend I had two words written on my hand in black sharpie
