Randy Savage's three-legged rescue cat, JYC, is still alive and being cared for by Randy's family. ​ JYC stands for Junkyard Cat, named after Savage's longtime friend Junkyard Dog. Savage rescued the cat from a junkyard after noticing it only had three legs. ​ The story was first made public in 2016 by Savage's brother Lanny Poffo: "Randy rescued a one-armed kitty about six months before he died. His wife still owns the cat who was named JYC, in honor of his fallen friend, JYD (Junkyard Dog)." ​ Savage passed away on May 20, 2011 at the age of 58.
