A student running on campus reported that the passenger of a passing car brandished a gun at him on South Drive of campus near Gilman Hall on Sunday evening. The Daily Californian spoke with the student, who said somebody from the passenger side of a silver Nissan sedan in a ski mask and sunglasses pointed what he believed to be a silver revolver at him at 10:19 p.m. The student says he was “80-95%” sure it was a gun. “I was like, ‘Oh s--- … I should run, shouldn’t I,” the student said. UCPD released a WarnMe at 11:19 p.m. Sunday night alerting the public of the incident. The WarnMe classified the incident as an aggravated assault. The student said he was not physically harmed during the incident. The WarnMe did not indicate that the report is linked to the potentially armed suspect that UCPD searched for in the Fire Trails earlier Sunday evening.
