This is dedicated to every woman who was told to be a “good girl” while growing up. I’ve talked about this concept before, but something about what norafatehi said really stuck with me: “This is all just image.” Because what is a good girl if not a performance? Be quiet. Be soft. Be small. Follow the dress code. Sit right. Speak carefully. Have the right opinions, or better yet, have none at all. And the second you stop performing by wearing what you want, saying what you want, or simply refusing to make yourself smaller... you’re not a good girl anymore. You’re a bad girl. No explanation needed. No context required. Just a label, and you’re done. That’s the ‘good girl’ trap. We as women aren’t allowed to be nuanced. We’re not allowed to be misunderstood. We have to be perfect, palatable, and easy to digest, all the time. But we’ve had enough. Watch the full conversation with Nora on YouTube. Link in bio.
