Punjab United’s FA Vase journey has been one of the stories of the season, so I had to see it up close..
Made it down to Gravesend for the semi final second leg at the Steve Cook Stadium. Punjab United fell short against Cockfosters and lost the tie, but what a day it was. A record crowd of close to 1,300, a proper atmosphere, and a real reminder of how much non league football means to communities.
Huge credit to the Punjab United army of volunteers who ran everything brilliantly. Loved seeing such a multicultural crowd and so many youngsters in Punjab United kits making noise for their team..
Well done to manager Chippie Sian and the whole squad on a fantastic run. Heads held high and here’s hoping it’s Wembley next year.
Special for me to see the operation first hand too, especially after punjabunitedfc deservedly won the Community Club Award at the 2024 asianfootballawards ..
Also encouraging to see more South Asians stepping into football club ownership. Hope we see even more...
