The owner of the Kettlestone Central Sports Complex in Waukee won a lawsuit against Dallas County officials over whether the complex is exempt from property taxes. Dallas County Judge Stacy Ritchie said in a ruling Monday, April 6, "there is no genuine dispute of fact that the Kettlestone Complex is exempt from property taxation." That means the Iowa Youth Athletic Foundation won its case against the Dallas County Board of Review. The Ames-based nonprofit foundation sued in June in an attempt to reverse the county assessor's decision to charge the complex at 2045 SE Glacier Trail property taxes.
