WHY I TRAIN THIS WAY AT 50
My week is structured on purpose.
Monday is for building strength.
Wednesday is for building shape.
Friday is for fullness, recovery, and longevity.
Friday is not a PR day.
It’s not about lifting the heaviest weight in the room.
It’s about using the right weight, the right tempo, and keeping the muscle under constant tension.
At 50, I’ve learned that progress doesn’t come from going hard every session, it comes from knowing when to push and when to pull back.
On Fridays:
• weights are lighter
• reps are higher
• tempo is slower
• joints are protected
• blood flow is prioritized
This is how I refill the muscle, improve muscle quality, recover faster, and stay consistent week after week.
If every workout leaves you sore, drained, or in pain, that’s not discipline that’s poor planning.
Friday allows me to walk out of the gym feeling better, not broken.
And because of that, I can show up stronger on Monday.
