Walking into the gym at this stage of life is different.
You’re not chasing a body anymore, you’re protecting one.
Perimenopause doesn’t announce itself loudly, but you feel it.
The strength that doesn’t come as easily.
The fat that shows up uninvited.
The recovery that takes longer.
The body that asks you to choose differently.
So I chose strength.
I squat to keep my legs strong for the years ahead.
I hip thrust to preserve power, posture, and confidence.
I do good mornings to protect my back and my spine.
I step up and kick back to build stability, balance, and control.
This isn’t punishment.
It’s preparation.
After 49, lifting weights is no longer optional, it’s essential.
For our bones.
For our hormones.
For our metabolism.
For our independence.
I’m not trying to be younger.
I’m training to be stronger, healthier, and capable for a long time.
Perimenopause isn’t smiling and that’s okay.
Because I’ve learned that this season, though intense, can still be GOOD
when you meet it...
