Monday Deload
Today I lifted lighter and I smiled while doing it.
Because at this age, strength isn’t about proving you can carry heavy things every single week.
It’s about knowing when to let your body breathe… so it can come back stronger.
Today’s deload session (same movements, intentional loads):
• Glute-biased squat : 55 kg, slow and controlled
• Hip thrust :130 kg, 2-0-3 tempo
• Bulgarian split squat :17.5kg, steady and balanced
• Romanian deadlift :60 kg, smooth hinge
Hip abduction light weight , controlled
The lighter weight isn’t a step back, it’s how I protect my knees, hips, and lower back.
It’s how I let my nervous system reset.
It’s how my muscles actually adapt instead of just surviving.
And the tempo?
That’s the quiet hero.
For the hipthrust tempo 2-0-4
2 seconds up, no pause, 3 seconds down because control builds strength that lasts and rushing is how injuries sneak in uninvited.
