Conception isn't a competition.
So when you conceive...when you announce... I beg you, don't say how long it took.
"I sneeze and I'm pregnant"
"My husband just needs to look at me and I'm pregnant."
"First try."
These are statements - a dialogue - that, for some reason has been normalized and encouraged.
But here's the thing. A flippant remark - one that you'll forget in 5 minutes - will render another couple depressed; despondent; and broken.
I'm so happy that you're expecting - but I also want you to know - your first try is not the norm.
