Cooking African food is truly a labor of love. 🇨🇲💛
In one of my previous videos, I said that when I want to eat “healthier,” I don’t eat African food every day. I misspoke a bit. Growing up, we learned to define healthy as low calorie, less oil, salt, or cream. When my mom and aunt were trying to lose weight, they’d have our lady prepare their meals separately… grilled chicken, sautéed veggies, etc. Meanwhile, the rest of us were eating ndolé, eru, rice, and stew 😅
So when I say I limit it to stay “healthy,” that’s the context. African food is nourishing, rich, and made with love… but for me, it’s also an indulgence. If I ate like this every day, I’d never keep my figure 😭😂
Hope that clears it up 🫶🏾
