Know whose opinions really matter. Know whose opinions really matter to you. What is your roundtable? What is the criteria for them to be at your roundtable? For me, it’s twofold. 1. They have built time under tension with me and I know that they care. They have context to the person who I want to become and be more often. 2. They’ve been in the amphitheater where there’s real stress and pressure and they know the defaults that happen in those conditions. So it’s the context of both of those that I go, I’m at home. I can be so vulnerable that you know how to take care of me in my most vulnerable state because you know the person I want to be and you know the traumas I’ve had. People used to ask me early in my career, what are the commonalities or what are the traits of the greats?
