2 years. Hard to believe it’s been that long since #TheFirstRuleOfMastery entered the world.
 When I set out to explore the invisible force that holds so many of us back—the Fear of People’s Opinions (FOPO)—I couldn’t have predicted what would follow:

• Translated into 15 languages
• harvard_business_review ’s top-selling title in its first year
• Even oprah made FOPO her “Word of the Week”
 But the recognition isn’t what matters most.
 What matters is this:
 Hearing how the book has helped people name, understand, and work with the forces that keep them from living and leading authentically.
 The stories you’ve shared—leaders showing up differently, parents modeling vulnerability, young people choosing creation over performance—remind me why we wrote this book in the first place. FOPO isn’t going away.

But our ability to work with it can grow.
