Humans have been described forever as the social species, the social animal, and as the toolmaker species. It was our intellect and our sociability that guaranteed our ancestors’ dominance. 👊 However, our cousins in the animal kingdom, our fellow hominids are rapidly catching up. Especially Orangutans! 🦧Orangutans are the “people of the forest”, they form tribes like we do 🛡️, shape tools like we do 🛠️, and even communicate like we do as well. 🙊And just like us they also enjoy some water a nice warm day like today, and we shared some with our friend here who was also quite thirsty. That is the wonderful thing about all hominids, especially humans and orangutans, and chimpanzees display it too is that there is a sense of care that while noble on its own also has evolutionary benefits too.
