Chefs from all across Chicago came together today for something bigger than food. “Todos Ponen” means “everybody contributes,” and that is exactly what this is about. The first photo is me with Don Inocencio aka “El Güero” from Carnitas Uruapan. I swear I only went to meet him… okay fine, I stayed for the movement too 😉. Then came the group shot. Chefs from all over the city saying yes to showing up for our immigrant communities. In a time when families are being torn apart, when a parent is taken away and households are left struggling to make ends meet, we wanted to do more than just talk. On Monday, January 19, 2026, chefs across Chicago are coming together for Todos Ponen, an event created by Diana from Mitocaya and Marcos from Carnitas Uruapan, to raise funds for direct grocery support for immigrant families.
