Tips for a trip to Lofoten Islands!
- book your vans early, they book out far in advance and whats left over is the most expensive models.
- It is more affordable to fly into Bodo or Evenes airports then ferry or drive over rather than flying directly into Lofoten
- We found Kiwi to be the grocery store with the friendliest prices and had everything we needed!
- I booked 2 of our hotels a few days before and got really great pricing on booking since they had brought down their prices by A LOT rather than leaving a room vacant.
- Dining out is extremely expensive we did not find anything cheaper than about $25-$30 for an average plate unless it was gas station hot dogs.
- Gas is somewhere between $8-9/gallon but we got lucky with a pretty fuel efficient van!
- Watch where you park. Norway has “right to roam” but be respectful of private land and no parking signs.
I would consider our spend mid range! We saw a ton of people hitch hiking and camping their way through Lofoten. But ...
