Donating a kidney is still the best decision I’ve ever made and I don’t regret it for a second. But I am super conscious of the fact that it was a consequence of growing up in poverty. That experience is a big part of why I talk about money. Financial pressure shapes so many of the choices we make, often in ways we don’t realize until much later.
