The Polar Bears. One of my favorite Martha’s Vineyard traditions. The Marthas Vineyard Polar Bears started in 1945 as a safe space for Black Swimmers - the tradition continues from July 4th through Labor Day every morning from 7:30-8:30 AM at the Inkwell. Rain or shine! I covinced my Mom, Aunts and friends to join me to keep the tradition alive - 209 of us total this morning!
