I’m going to retire my mom ( and my whole family) if it’s the last thing I do. She’s a Caribbean mother (iykyk) who’s watching her daughter with all her degrees choose a life in creative arts. I know she may not understand but through this entire journey, she has supported me actively whether buying outfits for stage or funding for music videos or being my camera person or helping me make content for companies. She’s been right there. Happily, with a smile on her face. I can’t wait to see her kick her feet up and relax for good. She deserves. I don’t take any of it for granted.
