I worked 55 hours in total last week 😮‍💨 and before you go and ask I don’t get paid overtime 🥺 I don’t qualify for it at my company 😕 But unfortunately science is going to science sometimes whether you like it or not 🫠 and then before you know if you’re stuck in the lab for 12 hours wondering how it possibly became so late?! ⌛️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ The very long day was due to me not being as prepared for my experiment as I would have liked 🤓 which meant that everything that could go wrong did go wrong 😂 and suddenly it was dark outside again 🌃 That was a sad day! 😅 ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ I wanted to share this to further prove that science will sometimes still be science ⚗️ and the possibility that you’ll have long weeks is very high, even after leaving academia 🏛️ and moving to industry 👩‍🔬 ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ Buuuut!! ☝🏼 this is the first time I’ve worked this long in the full 1.5 years I’ve been working my company 🤓 which is actually AMAZING!!! 🤩 I’ll take the one long work week in exchange for 1.5 yea...
