It’s kinda an unusual system 😅 like oh you didn’t make it yet? Oh well! You’re on your own now 😢 Like what?? How can you leave people hanging like that after they’ve put in so much time and effort 🥺 it honestly makes me a little mad 😡 ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ I got lucky with my extension 🤓 It was fully paid for an extra year and a half 🥹 it was a special fund from the government at the time for PhD students who were delayed because of c0 vid 🦠 but it’s not a very common thing otherwise seeing as PhDs in the Netherlands are funded through the grants your PI gets 💰 and once the grant money runs out you’re kinda done for 😬 Unless you’re working in a group where the PI has a lot of funding 😅 but that’s just luck 🍀 ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ So I’m curious to know if you guys have experienced this 🥺 Or maybe think differently about doing a PhD in this country 🇳🇱 now that you know there’s a chance you won’t get paid until the end 😳 ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ #phd #phdstudentlife #phdstudentsofinstagram #phdproblems #phdjourney...
