Dear Georgie
The 6th grade year is ending and I’m trying so hard to show up in a big way for Lily. It’s harder. Not easier as they would assume. So many landmines. So many new ones…
I know you would be smiling so big and excited for all that the new year will bring. You’d probably be the only one again in class to get 100% on your math test and I can imagine already mastered German since you started not that long ago…
Graduation of 6th grade feels impossible to me. Upper school and the passage of time feels impossible to me. I hope you’re holding Lily’s hand next week. Nothing has been easy. I tried to make it easier but getting everyone on board was harder than I thought. I can’t thank you enough for walking beside her everyday. I know you’re there. She knows it. We know it.
I told Lily we hold three bags.
1. The toolbox. For landmines. We need this toolbox to navigate the impossible moments. We build this box with educators. Therapists. Friends. Community. Our own intuition....
