As artists, our voices travel far beyond the stage. Today I’m proud to use mine in partnership with Wild Africa to remind us all of something deeply important, protecting the wildlife that makes Namibia one of the most unique places on Earth.
Our elephants, rhinos, lions and countless other species are not just animals in the wild. They are national treasures. They are part of our identity, our heritage, and our story as Namibians.
But beyond that, they also play a critical role in our economy. Wildlife drives tourism and tourism creates thousands of direct and indirect jobs for our people. From lodges and tour guides to transport, craft markets and local communities, the protection of our wildlife helps sustain livelihoods across the country.
