It’s earned over time… in the kept promises, in staying calm when things get hard, and in proving, over and over, “I’m not going anywhere.” For kids who have experienced loss, trust isn’t about words. It’s about consistency. It’s watching to see if you mean what you say. It’s testing boundaries to see if you’ll still stay. It’s waiting to feel safe enough to just be themselves. And when that moment comes… When they choose you back. When they run to you. When they let you see the real them. When they let go and fall… It’s the most humbling, beautiful feeling in the world.
