I’m often asked why advocacy matters so deeply to me.
I am a proud daughter of immigrants. My parents were immigrants. My grandparents were immigrants. I’ve witnessed firsthand the sacrifices, the resilience, and the quiet strength of generations who didn’t always have the opportunity or safety to speak up, stand firm, or be heard.
That history lives with me. It’s why I believe advocacy is not just a privilege, but a responsibility.
In a time when immigrants are too often met with misunderstanding or hostility, it’s important to remember this truth: immigrants are the backbone of our country. They build, contribute, innovate, and strengthen our communities every single day.
Advocacy creates change. One voice can spark a movement. One act of courage can lead to countless impacts. When we speak up, we don’t just speak for ourselves, we speak for those who came before us and those who will come after.
